SkillsPULSE workshop on employers’ skills needs successfully held today
Today, the SkillsPULSE International Workshop on Employers’ Skills Needs successfully brought together experts from across Europe in an engaging online event focused on one of Europe’s most pressing challenges: understanding and addressing skills shortages and gaps.
Organised within the framework of the SkillsPULSE project, the workshop presented key findings from the EU study on employers’ skills needs and explored how employer-driven evidence can contribute to more effective skills intelligence systems and labour market policies.
The event attracted strong participation from stakeholders across different countries and featured a keynote contribution about EU policies in the skills shortage domain as well as two interactive panel discussions: “Why do skills gaps persist: workplace determinants” and “Addressing skills deficiencies: employer practices and strategies”. The panels involved employer organisations, industry representatives, and HR professionals from Poland, Italy, Greece, Finland, United Kingdom, Ireland and Estonia.
The workshop forms part of the broader activities of the SkillsPULSE project, which aims to develop innovative approaches and tools to identify, predict and map current and emerging skills shortages and gaps in Europe.

The next SkillsPULSE online workshop, titled “Harnessing employer surveys for skills intelligence: Bridging employer insights and labour market intelligence towards addressing skills shortages”, will take place on 21 May 2026 from 10:00 to 12:30 CEST.
The event will continue the discussion on the role of employer surveys and data-driven approaches in strengthening Europe’s skills intelligence ecosystem.
