Joint Research Seminar on open job vacancy analysis successfully held today

The seminar took place today with sustained interest in the methodological discussion.

During the seminar we could exchange methodological lessons on the use of open job vacancy (OJV) and online job advertisement (OJA) data for skills intelligence, discuss data quality and analytical limitations, and identify how web-based labour market intelligence can support policy development when combined with other sources.

We would like to thank all participants, speakers and contributors who joined today’s Joint Research Seminar on Open Job Vacancy Analysis. The seminar highlighted both the great potential and the important limitations of online job vacancy data for understanding skills demand, shortages and labour market transformations.

But this seminar did not close SkillsPULSE work on OJV data; research activities will continue. Upcoming work includes the development of a composite indicator to support stakeholders in measuring skills shortages, to be made available in an online environment.
