SkillsPULSE Policy Roundtable brings together European stakeholders to discuss skills shortages and gaps
On 11 June, the SkillsPULSE project hosted its Policy Roundtable, “Employer and institutional insights on skills shortages and gaps”, at the Brussels office of project coordinator Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini.
The event brought together representatives from European institutions, social partners, education and training stakeholders, and labour market experts to exchange perspectives on one of Europe’s most pressing challenges: understanding and addressing skills shortages and skills gaps.
Building on discussions held throughout the week during the FGB Knowledge Apéro and other stakeholder engagement activities, the roundtable provided a valuable opportunity to explore how evidence from employers and institutional actors can contribute to more effective skills policies and labour market interventions.
The discussion benefited from the contributions of distinguished speakers representing key European and international organisations. SkillsPULSE was honoured to welcome insights from Dr Michael Freytag (World Employment Confederation), Csaba Borboly (European Committee of the Regions), Lars Ludolph (OECD), Łukasz Arendt (European Commission) and Emilio Dogliani (EfVET).
The Policy Roundtable formed part of an intensive week of stakeholder engagement for SkillsPULSE in Brussels, reinforcing the project’s commitment to fostering dialogue between researchers, policymakers and practitioners.
